Christopher gave a sharp whimper as he moved to get off the bed, his body shaking and sore. He quickly moved into the designated corner, tears streaming down his face as he used his hands to try and wipe away the worst of them. Part of him was mad at himself but... some part of him was angry at Leo, too for deserting him (or so it had seemed) and leaving him with nothing to do and no one to be around but Jim.

Pike watched that struggle from his boy but didn't give in this time. He'd been far too soft with the boy lately. That was going to have to change.
